This post is a bit of a blast from the past but while cleaning out my music computer I found a few of my old mix tapes (mix mp3s?) I had created while DJing around melboune a few years ago:
This first mix titled “Edible Audio” was put together for a Dj competitions and recorded live on Technics 1200s and a rane Dj Mixer. It’s a mix of hip hop and beats that I had collected on vinyl over the years
This Rumpy Pumpy Ghetto mix is a mix I recorded live again and contains some of my favorite ghetto and booty tec records. Being live, it’s a little messy in parts but none the less a good fun booty shaking mix
This last mix MMMBass was a collection of my favorite dubstep and grime tracks of the time.
One again recorded live it’s a little messy in parts but makes up for it in low frequency rumble.
A couple of weeks ago I posted an animation that was part of a project called “What animal are you?”. It was stop animation done by primary school school aged kids through Art Play working with my friends Kate and Dell.
These are the other three animations that were created:
My friend Kate was working on a project helping primary school aged kids to create a stop motion animation showing which animal they would like to be, for Art Play. They recoded the voices in the workshop and needed a bit of help cleaning them up.
I cleaned the voices up as much as I could, created a short music track for the opening titles and credits and added some atmospheres.
Here is one of my favorite ones.
There were four in total which can check here:
A while back I was lucky enough to be working with the guys from the Psyde Projects recording their vocals for their album and EP.
After being inspired by their beats I decided to use the vocals from one of their tracks to create a remix which in turn spurred them on to release an album of remixes.
I created all the synth sounds Native Instruments Massive and Absynth, programmed the drums using battery and recorded my self on the the turntables through my rane mixer. All in all it came together quite well.
Feel free to download and share it.
